First the good news! Whenever hypnosis is applied in a serious manner to the problem of tobacco addiction there is almost always both a dramatic and beneficial effect on the subject.
‘Serious manner’ though, implies a number of things have to be taken into account.
First and foremost, when hypnosis is used to help someone stop smoking, it has to be with the understanding that everyone is different. Why I continue to smoke may be entirely different to why you continue to smoke. In other words, the person must be treated, not just the symptoms.
Now for the bad news. Your reason(s) for smoking may not be simple. There may be underlying causes, anxieties etc that have to be dealt with first. While it is true that some people can be easily and quickly treated by direct suggestion hypnosis, many smokers will require an extra number of sessions for a permanent cure.
